What Stripe charges
Stripe is the payment processor. When a subscriber pays, Stripe charges a processing fee based on the payment method and whether the card is domestic or international. For Australian Stripe accounts, standard online card fees are shown below.
Domestic card payments (AU)
1.7% + A$0.30 per successful charge
Example: most AU-issued Visa/Mastercard transactions.
International card payments
3.5% + A$0.30 per successful charge
Example: cards issued outside Australia.
Note: Additional Stripe fees can apply in certain situations (for example, Instant Payouts). Stripe lists Instant Payout fees for AU as 1.5%.
What Structura charges
Structura charges a 10% platform fee on subscription revenue earned by creators. This funds hosting, product development, fraud prevention, support, and ongoing improvements.

How funds are handled
Structura uses Stripe to process payments and Stripe Connect to route creator earnings. In simple terms:
- 1) A subscriber pays a creator subscription via Stripe Checkout.
- 2) Stripe deducts processing fees (e.g., domestic or international card fee).
- 3) Structura deducts the platform fee (10%).
- 4) The remaining balance becomes the creator’s earnings and is paid out to their connected Stripe bank account according to Stripe’s payout schedule.

Example subscription price: $25.00/mo (AUD). This example uses the AU domestic card Stripe rate for illustration. Actual Stripe fees vary depending on card type, country, and payment method.

Refunds, disputes, and edge cases
Refunds
If a payment is refunded, the original transaction may be reversed. Processing fees may or may not be returned depending on Stripe policy and payment method.
Chargebacks / disputes
Disputes can result in funds being withdrawn from the creator’s balance while the case is reviewed. In some cases, additional Stripe dispute fees may apply.
Instant payouts (optional)
If a creator uses Instant Payouts, Stripe charges an additional fee (AU: 1.5%).
